O AnyDVD trabalha em segundo plano para remover automaticamente a proteção contra cópia de um filme em DVD assim que este é inserido no drive, permitindo fazer o backup completo do filme usando uma ferramenta como o CloneDVD e CloneDVD Mobile.
Você também pode remover o código RPC de regiões, tornando o DVD 'region free' para que este possa ser reproduzido em qualquer aparelho de DVD e com qualquer software DVD Player.
Já o AnyDVD HD permite remover a proteção de discos HD DVD e Blu-Ray, possibilitando ao usuário copiar o conteúdo dos discos sem nenhum problema.
